Pregnancy, Postpartum & Parenthood
New & expecting parents
Support through pregnancy, postpartum, and the transition to parenthood. A place to adjust to the new roles, changing relationships, competing demands, and the parts of parenthood that may feel different than you imagined.
Pregnancy, Postpartum & Motherhood
The emotional complexity of motherhood
The path to motherhood, from fertility and pregnancy through the postpartum period, can bring joy and gratitude alongside anxiety, grief, and uncertainty. Even when motherhood is deeply wanted, parts of the experience can be harder or messier than expected, especially when you feel like you're supposed to be grateful for all of it.
You can read the books, make the plans, and have a pretty clear idea of the kind of mother you want to be. But some things are hard to understand until you're living them: the weight of responsibility, how little control you sometimes have, and discovering what comes naturally and what doesn't. Then there's the endless advice about how to do it "right." Breastfeed but protect your mental health. Sleep train but respond to every need. Go back to work. Stay home. And don't forget to cherish every minute!
I help women make sense of these experiences, navigate competing expectations, and figure out what feels right for them and their families, with greater self-understanding and less self-judgment.
Fatherhood
Figuring out what fatherhood looks like for you
Becoming a father can change how you think about yourself, your relationships, and what matters most to you. It can also bring your own childhood into sharper focus, raising questions about how you were parented and what you want to carry forward or do differently.
You can be excited to become a father and still miss parts of your old life. Spontaneously squeezing in nine holes of golf, catching a last-minute concert at Red Rocks, or spending an entire Saturday doing absolutely nothing might now feel like luxuries from a past life. You might also miss how things used to feel with your partner, feel unsure of your place as your family develops new bonds and routines, or struggle to balance family, work, and time for yourself.
I work with new and expecting fathers as they adjust to parenthood, navigate changes in their relationships, and figure out what kind of father they want to be.
You don't have to sort this out alone.
